About the initiative About the initiative
Our mission
The basic idea of the initiative is to help 100 innovative SMEs and start-ups with a connection to the Basel area to take a major step forwards in their development. In doing so, we want to make a valuable contribution to promoting the area as a centre for innovation and business.
Our approach
We offer holistic support on several levels: BLKB provides loans of between CHF 100,000 and CHF 500,000 with a term of up to three years to finance the next development step. In cooperation with our partners, we also offer coaching and mentoring across all relevant areas in addition to support in finding suitable premises.
Our impact
Since the initiative was launched, around 300 innovative SMEs and start-ups have applied; 36 are now a part of «100 fürs Baselbiet» and are receiving support to the tune of CHF 14.4 million. They come from a wide range of sectors including fintech, medtech and pharma, and have created a total of over 120 new jobs in the last three years.
